Pay and play

Pay and Play is our craft hire scheme and operates from April – Oct It is available on selective weekends and some weekdays depending on craft availability and weather conditions

You can check dates, times and craft availability by visiting the notice board on this site or call the centre on 01603 632307 where you can also pre book your craft hire up to one week in advance.

1100 – 1230
1330 – 1500
1530 – 1700

Sculls£8.00 per 1.5 hour
Windsurfer£10.00 per 1.5 hour
Topper/Oppie£12.00 per 1.5 hour
Laser£15.00 per 1.5 hour
Wayfarer£20.00 per 1.5 hour

Pay and play - terms and conditions

  • All users must first register with the centre.
  • Registration forms are available on the day at reception or online at www.whitlinghamoec.co.uk
  • Upon successful completion of a brief assessment of ability (not required for canoe) you will receive your free registration card.
  • Non-compliance with the rules of good practise on the water (available on application) will result in the cancellation of a users registration card.
  • In the interests of health and safety all participants must respond to the instructions of the Duty Manager and Centre Staff

NB. Participants must meet certain minimal standards of ability for certain craft.

  • All participants 12 or under must be accompanied by adult. Users 13-16yrs must have parental consent.
  • The final decision to hire craft rests with the Duty Manager and will be judged by regarding prevailing weather conditions, availability of craft, other activities and hirer’s ability.
  • The use of buoyancy aids is mandatory.
